Our Commitment to Privacy

At devtoolkit.fyi, we take your privacy seriously. This page explains our approach to data and privacy.

What We DON'T Collect

  • Your tool inputs: Any data you enter into our tools stays in your browser
  • Personal information: No names, emails, or account information
  • Cookies: We don't use cookies for tracking
  • Third-party tracking: No Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar trackers
  • IP addresses: Not logged or stored
  • Browser fingerprints: We don't fingerprint visitors

What We DO Collect

We may collect minimal, privacy-friendly analytics:

  • Page views: Aggregate counts only, no personal data
  • Referrer information: To understand how visitors find us
  • Browser/OS type: For compatibility testing only

If we implement analytics, we'll use privacy-focused solutions (like Plausible or Umami) that:

  • Don't use cookies
  • Don't track users across sites
  • Don't collect personal data
  • Are GDPR/CCPA compliant by default

How Our Tools Work

All tools on devtoolkit.fyi use client-side processing:

  • Your data is processed entirely in your web browser
  • We have no backend servers that receive or process your tool inputs
  • Your data never leaves your device
  • Tools work even if you block our server entirely

Third-Party Services

We minimize third-party dependencies. Currently, we use:

  • Hosting (Vercel): For serving static files. They may log requests for infrastructure purposes
  • DNS (Cloudflare/Similar): Standard DNS resolution, may log requests

We do not use:

  • Ad networks
  • Social media widgets
  • Third-party analytics scripts
  • CDNs for tracking

Data Storage

Some tools may use your browser's local storage to save preferences (like dark mode settings). This data:

  • Stays on your device
  • Is never transmitted to our servers
  • Can be cleared by clearing your browser data

Security

While we can't see your data (because it never leaves your browser), we still take security seriously:

  • HTTPS enforced on all pages
  • Content Security Policy headers to prevent XSS
  • Regular dependency updates
  • Minimal third-party code

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

Your Rights

Because we don't collect personal data, there's nothing for us to:

  • Delete (we don't have it)
  • Export (we don't have it)
  • Correct (we don't have it)

If you have privacy concerns or questions, you can reach out to us via GitHub or social media.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Significant changes will be highlighted on the homepage.

Simple Summary

TL;DR: We don't collect, store, or transmit your data. Everything runs in your browser. We respect your privacy because we genuinely believe tools should work for you, not spy on you.
